About Us

ONGI is a contemporary design and ceramics studio founded in Almaty by Alexey Karamzin and Rimma Fattakhova. We work at the intersection of traditional crafts and modern technologies, creating objects in which material, form, and texture become the foundation of expression. We are inspired by the natural structures and cultural context of the region. This is evident in the textures and form of our works—from direct references to natural forms to their abstract interpretation. We strive to preserve the feeling of living materials and highlight their natural beauty. Each object is handcrafted and undergoes a consistent process—from concept and experimentation to the final form. We focus not only on aesthetics but also on durability, tactility, and quality of execution. We create sculptures, vases, lamps, furniture, and ceramic interior elements, and also develop custom solutions for private and commercial projects. We collaborate with designers and architects, helping to integrate ceramics into spaces—from small accents to large-scale projects.
